Maspalomas – Playa del Inglés beach: nature, nudity and… “sex” in Gran Canaria

There is hardly a more talked about beach among the swinger community in Spain than that of Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, located right at the southern end of Gran Canaria, one of the seven Canary Islands. A huge beach that within its impressive landscape offers a large variety of perspectives, with and without the human intervention.

The first thing to clarify before getting any further is that we are speaking of one only beach, holding two different denominations for each of  the two parts that meet at its southernmost end. One stretching alongside the town of Maspalomas and the other doing so beside the neighbouring town of Playa del Inglés. So, all in all, we have a beach about 15 kilometres long following the waterfront line, and with a triangular shape whose interior limit has obviously been imposed by the urban development linked to the huge tourist business involved.

But despite that brutal human manipulation, the beach area remains such an enormous natural setting that it goes far beyond what we usually understand as a beach. All of this environment is above all a natural reserve of gigantic moving dunes, shaped and constantly moved by the persistent local wind that often makes of staying at the beach quite a discomforting business.
The spectacle remains as magnificent as uniform until we approach the Maspalomas end, where a surprising combination of trees and vegetation found its way through in the midst of the desert, thanks to a marshland ecosystem that was also almost fully destroyed by the urban development.

The human activity in this peculiar and endless beach is therefore obviously concentrated by the seaside, whereas the dune territory stretching behind is sometimes traversed to go and return from the urban area, to practice hiking and… also to practice some other more intimate sports I will refer to later on.

Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés are also a very well-known nudist, swinger and gay destination, with large nudist areas clearly signed on both beaches that usually require a pretty long walk by the waterside to get to. As regards what has become the gay gathering area, it is much more obvious in Maspalomas than in Playa del Inglés, and it is also located inside the nudist zone.

And what about swinging? There we go then. Let’s begin by explaining that Gran Canaria has become one of the main swinger destinations in Europe, only second to Cap d’Agde in France, and that involves the existence of a relevant number of swingers clubs and hotels, most of which are located at the Maspalomas-Playa del Inglés area. Not to mention the existence of other parallel swinger businesses like a company operating swinger cruises with departure from the island.

That is why it is extremely easy to perceive at the nudist parts of the beach an obvious interest among many in analysing nakedness from all of its possible perspectives. I am only speaking though of discretely staring at someone you find attractive and strictly sharing your thoughts with your partner.
There is however a much more bodily and explicit way of dealing with your sexual arousal at the Maspalomas beach, but it usually involves having a nice walk towards the dune and vegetation zone. And this is something Maspalomas is very well-known for among swingers and… let me tell you straight off, among perverts also.

This part of the beach that combines trees, vegetation and dunes became over the years a meeting point for dogging lovers, especially for couples and single guys looking for threesomes and gang-bang open-air experiences. The place became so successful that soon appeared a sort of delimitation between a so-called “hetero area” and the “gay” one. So the idea was pretty simple: if you had any interest in trying your luck in the place, all you had to do was to have a walk around, obviously within the area corresponding to your sexual inclination, and check out if anything of your interest might arise.

The atmosphere started to decline though as the existence of this practice became too well-known, what brought about the proliferation of freaks of all sorts, together with a presumable commitment among the authorities to put an end to this “intolerable” use of a public space and natural environment.
So the final result of it all has been that the authorities seem to be far more interested in the economic charms that massive tourism brings about, and that healthy swingers have become too scared to step into this part of the beach, given the number of anxious perverts that tirelessly patrol it looking for a hole of any kind to release their insanity into.

So my advice to you is: if you are interested in the natural wonders that this part of the Maspalomas beach offers, don´t hesitate to have a walk through it. But please, don’t forget to bring your anti-rape spray.
If a swinger experience is what you are looking for, you had better visit one of the many swingers clubs available at Playa del Inglés. You will be safer and have a far better time.

It is quite discouraging though to ascertain how a wonderful natural space like the Maspalomas beach can be spoiled by massive urban development and nauseating behaviours.
